Any pilot may apply for any open position listed providing they meet the requirements listed above.

PROBATIONARY PERIOD:

Any new pilot joining Noble Air at Boston must complete a probationary period of 10 hours of logged flight time at Boston. During the probationary period a pilot will be assigned a temporary pilot #. After the completion of the probationary period the pilot will be assigned a permanent I.D. number and all hours from a previous virtual airline will be credited (if applicable) at that time. All probationary pilots have 30 days to complete their period. In the event a new pilot fails to file a report within the first 7 days of joining they will be removed from the roster without notice, the same applies if a probationary pilots fails to complete the required 10 hours of flight time within the 30 days period, unless you have contacted the Hub Captain. In the event a probationary is removed from the roster and wishes to return they must start over again as a new pilots. Probationary pilots are not allow to fly on line or receive credit for any ribbons. They are allowed to fly only the Express or Domestic Routes until the probationary period is complete. Once you become a permanent pilot you are required to file only 1 report per month to stay active on the roster.

PILOT STATUS:

Once a pilot has become a permanent pilot, he/she will stay on the active roster provided they file a flight report within every 30 days. In the event a pilot fails to do so, they can be removed from the active roster. If a pilots remains on the active roster and has not filed a flight report for over a period of 45 days and then removed, that pilot must contact the Hub Captain and request to be active again. The Hub Captain has the sole responsibility to allow or disallow the pilot to become active again.  In the event a pilot wishes to be placed on leave of absence, they must notify the Hub Captain of their intentions and provide an estimated return date. To be fair, the general rule will be a LOA will be granted 2 months for every 250 hours the pilots has logged. The LOA cannot exceed 6 months. Failure to notify the Hub Captain he may remove the pilot from the roster without notice. Pilots on leave of absence are considered active pilots. If a pilot request a LOA and is discovered flying with another virtual airline, that pilot will be removed from the roster immediately.  In the event the roster reaches our maximum capacity of (50) pilots, those on leave of absence may be removed without notice. The Hub Captain will make every effort to contact the pilots on leave of absence and request they return prior to removal.

RIBBON PROGRAM:

 We have a ribbon program for our pilots to receive recognition for their accomplishments. The Pilot Operations Center page displays the ribbons we use along with their description. To receive any ribbon, a pilot must comply with the requirements.  No pilot may accelerate the simulation time in order to achieve a ribbon sooner than expected. Any such action discovered will result in the removal of such ribbon. In the event a pilot is removed from the active roster for inactivity or as a result of a transfer to another hub, the ribbons received will be withdrawn. If the pilot returns to Boston they must start over again to receive any ribbons.

FORUM/NEWSLETTER:

We also have a forum which all the pilots may join and ask or answer questions. The newsletter is where you find the most recent news, which is updated from time to time if news is available.

SCREEN SHOTS:

Each pilot is allowed to have five (5) screen shots on display at one time.  Although not mandatory, it is recommended the screen shot should be a Noble texture. As long as the pilot does not abuse this a few screen shots of non-Noble texture will be allowed. The Hub Captain (HC) or the Assistant Hub Captain (AHC) will make the decision for the postings. The size will be 600x480 and text of the flight may be placed on the screen shot. The HC or AHC can provide this service. Most shot will be displayed for a period of 30 days before removing. Very important: There are many unauthorized Noble textures, but only authorized (On Fleet Page) Noble textures may be displayed.

MULTI PLAYER FLY-INS:

We have multi player fly-ins from time to time where the pilots can fly on line to and from a designated location established by the maker of the fly-in. Our voice program is Team Speak which all the necessary information is located on the Pilot Center page, Multi-Player Info. If a pilot wishes to fly with other pilots on line they may join in. We have a server available 24/7.

 AUTOMATED PIREP SYSTEM:

On January 10, 2009, Noble Air Boston Hub moved to an automated PIREP SYSTEM, joining a few other Noble Air Hubs already on this system, i.e. Australia, Heathrow, Glasgow and Gatwick.   You can access this system through  http://www.nobleairaus.com/PIREP/index.php  Once you join Noble Air, your hub captain will add your name to the Roster and will provide you with a temporary ID & PW.  Please make sure that you read and fully understand the Manual, accessible through the Pilots Menu.

During the transition period, which may take up to 6 months, some procedures have been implemented to facilitate the intregration to the new system:

NEW PROCEDURES:

  1.  Ribbon flights that have not yet been implemented, such as the special Monthly Flights, will be considered as Charter Flights, and filed as such;
  2.  When you finish a ribbon flight and return to Boston, send your hub captain either a message through the Messaging function of the PIREP SYSTEM or an Email to inform him.   This is the only way he can know until a tracking procedure is fully implemented;
  3.  Please ensure you book an aircraft with US registration (N123AB).   As Boston Hub pilot, you should not be allowed to book UK registration (G-ABCD) or Australia (VH-ABC), as these are reserved for the Heathrow or Australia hubs.  That is of course provided there are no other US registered plane available.
To EARN A RIBBON:

  1. Ribbon Flights have to be completed in order, starting with the first flight;
  2. PIREPs lodged within the time frame of the ribbon, i.e. layover time.  If you exceed this time, you will be sent back to the start);
  3. NO deviation (if you pirep another non-ribbon flight during your ribbon - you will be sent back to the start);
  4. on the Ribbon details page - click *Attempt Ribbon* to get the 1st flight;
  5. YOU MUST VISIT THE RIBBON FLIGHT PAGE AFTER COMPLETING THE LAST PIREP OF THE RIBBON TO BE AWARDED THE RIBBON;
  6. To manually PIREP, select flight type: charter, and the ribbon name and flightnumber will be listed;
  7. Ribbons are automatically awarded on completion of all flights.
