Dear Noble Air Pilots,

all the very best to a happy, prosperous and healthy New Year !

Noble Air Frankfurt has, together with all other participating Hub Captains and their Assisting Hub Captains and/or Webmasters, been very busy. A new structure of a Reporting and Management system of our worldwide active Virtual Airline has been established after electing a new Chairman. This - in order to keep all our interests at NBL FRA - has been done by our Webmaster Holger Treis, for which I am very grateful. Every day business at my company has kept me from participating en gros and technical problems saw me re-establishing my Flight Simulator FSX.

Pilot Reports last year had been only few, but those who were sent in, very magnificent and joy to read. Thank you for all of your efforts to keep our airline in business. Even a couple of new pilots joined our ranks, so we are growing, slowly, but surely. We all at Noble Air Frankfurt say "Welcome" to our new guys and are happy to assist them in any ways possible.

We at Management would like to ask you to step up sending in pilot reports and those screen shots. We do have presents here to give to the best screen shot of the year 2011 and it is continuing, but for this, we ask you to sent them in - we would very much like to publicize them on our homepage and an aircraft or a scenery is a "thank you" we are eager to give away.

Keep flying the noble and the friendly skies, make a mess and have a happy time in this year 2012!

The very best regards to y'all

Hendrik Dammann
Hub Captain

Dear Noble Crew Dogs,

Noble Air London is calling again to join in a fly-in event on July 17, 2010, to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Battle of Britain. Here's Roger's latest update to the event:

Hi Guys,
Just to remind you about the Battle of Britain Flyin. It is on Saturday 17th July (18th for Oz and NZ).
I have now produced a webpage with various links to downloads etc.The webpage is to be found at http://www.nobleair.com/hubs/lgw/BOB_Flyin.htm . It is also available from the&xnbsp;London webpage.
I hope to see lots of you there.

Cheers,
Roger

In addition to that, the Noble Air Teamspeak server has been updated. Sorry for publishing this information rather late due to job related trouble... But I guess it still is just in time for the fly-in event July 17, and I will also send the corresponding data via email. Here's what Roger sent to our Hub Captain:

Hi Guys, Mr Busy has kindly set-up a TeamSpeak 3 server for the exclusive use of Noble Air. This program is much neater, produces better sound&xnbsp;and has lots of new features.
NB the current TS2 server will not be available for us after 30th June, so the Battle of Britain Flyin will use the TS3 server.
Cheers
Roger

In addition, Roger's email featured valuable login information which is sent to you by email. It would not be suitable publishing it on the homepage.
That's it as for today. I have already tested Teamspeak 3, it works perfectly. If you have any questions on that program, do not hesitate to ask me. Apart from that, wouldn't it be nice meeting up in the Noble skies? Have fun and happy landings!

Dear Noble Crew Dogs,

Noble Air London is calling again to join in a fly-in event on July 17, 2010, to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Battle of Britain. Here's Roger's invitation:

Hi Guys!
A date for your diaries:
Saturday 17th July 2010
It is way past time for another Flyin, so we hope to make this one a good one.
We will celebrate the 70th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain by flying WW2 1940s aircraft. We will&xnbsp;"scramble" all together at &xnbsp;Tangmere (or possibly Biggin Hill), and then fly in a loose formation passing over Stapleford, North Weald and on to Duxford. We might attempt a fly past there before landing to refuel and for a break. We can then fly South again landing at Manston.
The flight time will allow for pilots from the USA as well as Australia and New Zealand to take part.
I will post more information and provide a webpage nearer the time.
This could be great fun, and something of a flying test to keep together throughout the flight.

Dear Noble Crew Dogs,

have you ever been missing Noble Air aircraft at your airports? Have you ever had the great experience of a Noble Air fly-in event with multiple Noble aircraft at the apron? - Now, you can have Noble Air AI traffic at least at Frankfurt.
Our crew dog Juan G. Ducaud has programmed some AI bgl-files which he offers to share. Just drop him an email. His AI traffic currently features a total of 22 flighs, a.o. from Frankfurt to Miami, Paris, Vienna, Bremen, and Sydney.

Now doesn't that look great? You may also take a look at the screenshot of the month April 2010!

Enjoy flying Noble Air , have fun and happy landings!

Dear Noble Crew Dogs,

a very happy New Year 2010 to all of those pilots cruisin' the friendly & "noble" skies.

A year has come and gone by where Noble Air has seen the end of a "as real as it gets" Flight Simulator FS 9 and the dawning of a most interesting, yet very demanding Flight Simulator FS X. Nobody knows the future of our basis of enjoyment, but lots of folks are very much in creating new planes and sceneries. I for one do not believe it is the end, but a new beginning …

We all at NBL Frankfurt want to thank our Webmaster Holger Treis for of a job well done and to express our appreciation for his continuing support in 2010. Thanks have also to be addressed to you, fellow "noble" pilots, for lots of good screenshots and some very readable pilot reports. Due to changes in the existence of NBL Hubs in Great Britain, NBL FRA has added some new - old - fellows we all want to welcome once again - of course, the drinks are on the Board of Management!

Currently,
Mr. Treis and I are working hard to review your votes and all those pics we have got to select the final one from - the Screenshot of the year 2009 - of course, the lucky one will get a present from us. It is an example for effort, for spirit and for the fun flying the "noble skies" - alone or online, but always with Noble Air.

Personally, I wish you and your loved ones a very happy new year 2010, all the very best and health, personal and job wise success and your continuing support of the one and only Noble Air Frankfurt.

Please keep up the good work - may 2010 bring us more PIREPs for us to enjoy !

Best whishes, have fun, make a mess….. and God's blessings to y'all

Dear Noble Crew Dogs,

Happy New Year to all of you !!!

On behalf of the management team of Noble Air Frankfurt, let me express all my best wishes for you and your families.

With all our screenshots online by now, loading of the screenshot gallery may take quite a long time. I will continually reduce the size of the teaser pics to reduce loading time. With the full size pictures linked You will not miss a single byte. As for a start, I have redesigned the table of screenshots, making it now a "last in first out" - stack. Latest addtions will always be added on top of the table, thus being visible without having to wait until all shots are loaded. I have not yet decided the screenshot of the month January 2010. Please email me your screenshots!
Please note that the screenshot of the year contest 2009 is still open until January 15. Check out the next NOTAM below for instructions on how to vote. If you want find out the pictures's author you need to change to our screenshot gallery. Now, may we kindly ask you to choose your favourite shot from last year's pics to reward the author? Dear Noble Crew Dogs,

please notice the following update on the next NOBLE AIR Flyin-event taking place October 24, 2009:

Hi Guys,
Just a reminder for the Stringbag Rally (October Flyin), which will take place on Saturday 24th October (25th for the Antipodes). It is a pursuit race in Tiger Moths from London to Paris. Full details are available from the London Hub Webpage: http://www.nobleair.com/hubs/lgw/index.html .
For those using the AutoPIREP,Ed has assembled 20 "Tiggers" at EGLC for us to fly on the day. If you fly one before the 24th please ensure it is returned to London City in good working order :-))
Please post this reminder on your webpages so we can get a good turnout from all Hubs.

See you there
Roger

That's it from the HC of Noble Air London. It makes sense not to link directly to the flyin-site as there are also announcements concerning FSHost and Teamspeak for your information on the Noble Air London start page. Having participated in some of these events recently I must say it is always a lot of fun and interesting talks besides the flying. I would apreciate very much if Noble Air Frankfurt was represented by all of you. But, of course, I can understand that real life always comes first, so I cannot yet promise myself to be there... We will see and I would like to see You there. Until then, have fun!

Dear Noble Crew Dogs,

the leafs on the trees start changing their colours. Geee, time is passing quickly! It is about time to introduce our brand new flightplans for late summer but also for autumn and winter 2009/2010. Once again, our "Guru" and Hub Captain Hendrik has spent almost all summer working on it. Finally, he has performed a great task in updating and extending our variety of flight plans including scheduled flights for passengers on short and long haul flights as well as air cargo operations and our VIP exclusively service. Please check out the Flight Schedule section of our Flight OPS linked on top. I do not include a link here as there is even more to say:

Once again, the Noble Air London Hub is organizing a fly-in event. This time, a Tiger Moth ralley is set up to be performed on October 24, 2009, but please check out the following invitation:

Hi Guys,
The London Hub is organising&xnbsp;the October Flyin. It would be great to have a few pilots from every NA Hub. Some of you will remember this flyin from some 5 years ago. On 24th October starting promptly at 2100 zulu/GMT, we will race from London City to Le Pin, South of Paris. We will pass under Tower Bridge and the Eiffel Tower. We will all be flying in Tiger Moths in a true VFR "seat of the pants" pursuit race. This race will be great fun and a bit of a challenge as well.
The link below will take you to the webpage and there are also links to download the Tiger Moths in FSX and FS9 versions.
NB There could be a change in the IP address for the FSHost so please keep an eye on the London Hub webpage where we will post the IP for the day.
***Put the date in your diary so we can have a fun Flyin***

Dear Noble Crew Dogs,

The Christchurch Hub are organising the August Flyin. Here's the invitation to all Noble Air Pilots we received from Roger Eve, Hub Captain of Noble Air London:

Hi All !
Get ready for some Polynesian Pampering as we will be flying into Tahiti on Saturday 15th August. Landing time will be between 2100 and 2300 GMT/Zulu - i.e. 10.00pm to Midnight UK time.
You can fly in from any airport so just calculate your flight time and make sure you get there in the window. ATC on TS will be provided by the NZ Hub, but those with FSX may fly on the Host/TS but use VATSIM for ATC if they prefer.
The link to the dedicated webpage is: http://nobleair.uuuq.com/special.html.

The last Flyin was great fun, but there are still a lot of pilots and even whole Hubs that do not join in. It would be wonderful to have pilots from all of the NA Hubs.

Cheers
Roger

Well, there is nothing left to say but: It would be great meeting Noble Air Frankfurt pilots at the Tahiti flyin event. I will try to be there, too, but cannot yet promise to really do so...

Sincerely, Holger

Dear Noble Crew Dogs,

John Barron has asked the management of Noble Air Frankfurt to publish the following topic:
All Noble Air pilots are invited to flying online with FSHost (built-in either in FS2004 and in FSX) and to use Teamspeak for means of communication. If you are new to these connections, please do not hesitate to contact either your webmaster or the Noble Air London hub management following the link at their homepage. Once connection is established, one might eventually find it useful to register to Teamspeak in order to be able to change into the Noble Air Lounge. Now, during the registration process, you may choose a nickname of your own. The management of our Teamspeak server kindly asks pilots registering or already registered to the Noble Air Servers of Teamspeak to choose their nicknames using the following order:

  • 1st) Pilot-ID (NA#### or e.g. NBL ####)
  • 2nd) Name
  • 3rd) Origin (individual Noble Air base)

The reason is to get pilots online into an accurate order so that they can more easily be identified when talking. It is highly recommended not to make your nickname looking like mine in this pic: which is achieved by changing the nickname during the connecting process.
Using FSHost, pilots are kindly asked to apply their Noble Air Pilot ID (e.g.NA3100G) only, applying the "G" only if awarded for a completed world circumnavigation.

Have fun online - hope to see ya soon on Noble Air online servers.

Yours, Holger

Dear Noble Crew Dogs,

due to Noble Air's 15th birthday, Noble Air London Hub had organized a Fly-In event at San Francisco Intl (KSFO) this weekend.
It really was fun! We made a total of 16 pilots flying into San Francisco at the same time - a new record for the Noble Air environment on our FSHost server. Together with ATC, 17 players were logged-in as a maximum. With these many pilots, parallel approaches into 28R and 28L were cleared to land several times.
Now, don't you let these numbers intimidate you! Some of us were new to flying online. Even I myself had some trouble which was related to my PSS-A340's autopilot. Approaching at too high altitude resulted in a go-around. Then I wondered where my flightplan was, but the - otherwise excellent - flight management computer was not willing to reenter the ILS-glideslope for that plan had already been dealt with and thus, it had been deleted. This made me worry only for short time, but with the flight plan being reloaded, the FMC now did not want to descent. So, finally, I had to perform a really steep and fast manual approach, but luckily managed the landing without injuries or damages.
ATC was really good, and all pilots took a while after landing to watch the others approaching and landing.
After all, we also had a chance to talk to each others, which was really interesting. Besides greetings and best wishes from the Noble Air London Hub and the management of our airline I was asked to convey an invitation to you: All Noble Air Frankfurt crew dogs have been invited to join the fun of flying online! Especially, the hub captain of Noble Air New Zealand asked me to tell you "down under" was really worth flying to. If you ever cruise these skies, please do not hesitate to stop over for a cup of coffee or a pint of beer (whichever you prefer) at Christchurch. Be sure to get a very warm welcome - on either side of the planet - when flying online within the Noble Air envoronment on Teamspeak and FSHost!
In fact, all the others online are such nice guys, that I can only advise you all to put your headphones on, setup your microphone and start flying online!
Now, if you want ATC as close to reality as possible, you might want to join VATSIM. But you may find catching up with ATC not always too easy. Although all controllers I have met so far are really understanding and helpful, you might also want to chat rather than flying strict procedures. This is what you get with Noble Air: Our Teamspeak server enables you to talk to other Noble Air pilots online without the need to follow the strict ATC etiquette. Here, special ATC is covered with fly-in events only .
Now, those of you who want to give it a try but do not know on how to get it straight, do not hesitate to contact me. Enjoy your flight!

Yours, Holger

NOBLE AIR 15th BIRTHDAY FLYIN

Hi All,

As many of you will know this year Noble Air is 15 years old. We have decided to celebrate with a Flyin based on the first NA Hub - San Francisco. It will take place on Saturday 11th July, and will be a true Flyin to KSFO. Pilots will be free to fly from any airport of their choice, but should plan to land at San Francisco International between 2000 and 2130 GMT/Zulu/UT. We have chosen this time to accommodate pilots from Australia, New Zealand, Europe and the USA. The Antipodean pilots will be flying early on the Sunday morning.
We hope to have ATC available on TS for the approach. Obviously pilots can log on to TS and FSHost at any stage during their flight to California.
More details can be found at http://www.nobleair.com/hubs/lgw/15th_Birthday_Flyin.html.
Meanwhile please make a note in your diaries. It would be great to have a good turn out from all of our Hubs.

Cheers

Dear Noble Crew Dogs,

The year is already a month old and your NBL FRA Management went back to work early ... ;-)

We have given it lots of thoughts, until steam evaporated out of our ears and finally, after lots a beer and more heavy stuff, we have finally decided to award the best Screenshot of the Year 2008 !

And the winner is ……………….Frank Röhrig !

Frank has shown his skill of catchin' the very right moment of true noble nature in a picture. He has given us lots of them, much too our chagrin for choosing among them, but his screenshot depicting a Noble plane right next to an Air China B744 has won us over. The light, the moment of them meeting on the tarmac, even the skyline of Frankfurt in the background, giving the pic a depth surpassing all the screenshots you all send in.

Of course, Frank will not only be awarded with a nice appreciation certificate, our beloved WM will create, but he will receive a price for his flight simulator to use in every day flying.

Frank, a big applause to you and to your artist skills for your Screenshot of the year 2008 !!!

To all of you I yell on the top of my lungs: Take pride in it and please try this at home :-)

Please klick on the image to get the "full picture"... as it has been cut to better fit in the frame.

Best wishes, make a mess….. and God's blessings to y'all

Dear Noble Crew Dogs,

Christmas has come and gone and everybody had a peaceful & happy time.

Well now, a new year has begun and the management of the Noble Air Frankfurt Hub invites each and every one of you to not only to join and enjoy our family, but to actively work together with us - without you, guys, we wouldn't be here - so act up ;-)

FSX is in better shape now that we have the SP2 and the hardware is pricey, but o.k.
I for one will switch to FSX permanently in due course. However, I will keep FS9, a companion of longstanding and I just can't hit that erase button, just now.

We have seen a couple of "newbies" around and that in itself is a fine thing. Please keep up the good work and keep on flyin' boys. Now, the PIREP-Faction out there was very still last year. You all know that only by reporting your events, your adventures or just a report about some freeware scenery, plane or else are very much appreciated by everyone here at the Frankfurt Hub.

The Webmaster and I will have to sort through all the screenshots you sent in and we have yet to determine the winner 2008… "… and the winner is …. - wait, wait, this is still to be seen, but we have one or two in the end run. Stay tuned until we announce the winner via our homepage.

The Management of Noble Air Frankfurt wishes to thank every and all pilots for their continuous efforts to make NBL FRA a successful hub within the Noble Air Family.
Please keep up the good work - may 2009 bring us more PIREPs for us to enjoy !

Best wishes, make a mess….. and God's blessings to y'all

Dear Noble Crew Dogs,

Summer is in full swing, many of you have done with vacations already and I still have enough days left to go at it now - nice perspective!

Millions around the world were very impressed by the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympics and we all at Noble Air whish the athletes all the best for their performances. Naturally, life goes on with or without Olympics, so we have taken delivery of "our" Airbus A380 and of course, the shuttle service from EDDF to ZBAA is done mostly by this very fine piece of flight-technology. Please look up the new connections in our brand new Flight plan Summer 2008.

Next to ZBAA and other Chinese airports, such as VHHX (Kai Tak revival!), we have recently been allowed to land our planes at additional destinations in Suisse, Italy and Spain, such as LSZR, LSZB, LSGG and LSZH. Of course LIRE and LEVC, LGMK are places well known at this time of the year.

Due to the superb handling of our management, we had no strikes to fight, as all our pilots and flight attendants are more than comfortable with NBL Air Frankfurt ….. <lol>. well …….

So, Noble Air Pilots and Crew Dogs, please enjoy our Summer FP 2008 and enjoy the brand new A380-800 on the flights from EDDF-ZBAA-EDDF-ZBAA- EDDF-ZBAA-EDDF-ZBAA- EDDF-ZBAA-EDDF-ZBAA- EDDF-ZBAA-EDDF-ZBAA …….

Best wishes, make a mess….. and God's blessings to y'all

Dear Noble Crew Dogs,

with the first NOTAM since the upload of a new design to our homepage in April I would like to introduce a flightplan update to you. Hendrik, our Hub Captain, has once again finished the demanding task to create new connections and a brand new prospect for the VIP Exclusively Noble Air Flightplan. Please check out the Flightplan section of our Homepage.
The other Noble Air Frankfurt flightplans remain active. But, anyway, you may always feel free to follow additional individual routes according to your own or your passengers' destinations.

Again, I would like to emphasize the monthly Noble Air Frankfurt Screenshot Contest. Please send more screenshots to the Hub management as the favoured pic will always be presented at the startscreen of Noble Air Frankfurt homepage. The best one of these screenshots will be chosen as "Screenshot of the Year", and the winning pilot will be awarded a price.

Have fun, keep flying!

Dear Noble Crew Dogs,

you will probably have noticed the new appearance of the Noble Air Frankfurt homepage. Finally, I have finished an almost complete renovation of our homepage.
Some important news have to be mentioned:

  • From now on, announcements to changes or updates of the homepage will only be published in the info screen at the startup page.
  • Thus, please make sure that you are watching an actual info screen. (If it does not update automatically, you may find your browser's "Reload" button useful.)
  • For actual information, please check out the sub pages of our site according to the announcements on the start screen where you may find the updated pilot roster, screenshots, or announcements at NOTAM.
  • There will be no more links to current events on the start screen. Announcements will only be made at the NOTAM section (this page!) of the Noble Air Frankfurt homepage.
  • For Noble Air Flyin events, please check out the Noble Air Gatwick hub regularly. Other events are posted e.g. at VATSIM.
  • The start screen image will, from now on, change regularly. May I ask all of you to participate in our screenshot contest so that, even more, this site becomes OUR homepage? New screenshots are always welcome.

I do really hope you like the new layout. I am looking forward to hearing from you.

Have fun, keep flying!

Detmold - Munich / Germany, March 24, 2008

Dear Noble Crew Dogs,

NBL FRA kindly asks you to participate in Noble Air Frankfurt's first ever held:

Screenshot Sweepstake 2008

The new face of Noble Air Frankfurt which will first be presented to the WWW community in April, 2008, still longs for a new startup screenshot. Thus, the Noble Air Frankfurt Management asks you, dear Noble Air Frankfurt pilots, to make it look even more like a real "home" of YOUR airline by initiating the Screenshot Sweepstake.

What is it about?

It is your way to show your appreciation to all the work NBL FRA Management, especially the NBL FRA Webmaster, has put in for you flying guys. Above picture is out of contest - of course - 'cause it's you who should send in all your goodies stacked away on your computer. Don't let the dust settle on them, sent them in and show 'em around ! We wanna see 'em all !!

Above plane is a BA B744 approaching Oakland and not a NBL plane. But, as the monthly winning screenshot is to be published as Noble Air Frankfurt's start screen image, the only prerequisite we ask you for is that you please involve a NBL aircraft in your screenshot. All other screenshots may be published in our screenshot gallery to be admired by all our NBL Crew Dogs. For the year over best screenshot, the winning author will be awarded by NBL FRA Management with an add-on working on FSX or FS9 either way. So, let the world see your Work of Art !!

Participation is easy:

All you need to do is to email your favorite screenshot (best: high resolution and formatted as *.jpg) to either Hendrik Damman, the Hub Captain, or Holger Treis, the webmaster, before the 20th of each month. Screenshots arriving later can only be taken into consideration the following month.

Your screenshots could look like these - damn, I could probably win the whole thing, but- who's to give me a present then ??

O.k. Crew Dogs - got the picture ? <BG> Come on, don't let us down, we even enlarged the server to handle all your pics you will send us...
go for it - go for GOLD !

Kind Regards,
have fun, make a mess….. and God's blessings to y'all

Detmold/Germany, January, 2008

Dear Noble Crew Dogs,

Christmas has come and gone, time flies (tempus fugit) - that old proverb is hotter than ever in these times.

NTL, a happy New Year 2008 to all of those pilots cruisin' the friendly & "noble" skies.

The Management of Noble Air Frankfurt wishes to thank every and all pilots for their flights and continuous efforts to make NBL FRA a successful hub within the Noble Air Family.

A new year has begun with lots of goodies that are yet to come for the FSX. The hardware is pickin' up and so are the prices one has to pay these days. I, for one, will look very hard at every piece of hard- and software, before I am going to get out my purse to lay out those hard earned Euros.

On the other hand, let's face it, who wants sceneries and/or planes which look like "Frankenstein" on our PCs ? We want value for the time we spent at the joystick. Sometimes, I think, less is more: more frame rates, more precision flyin', more fun, less hassle and still enough to get dinner for your sweetheart(s) ;-)).

As for Noble Air Frankfurt, the year 2008 brings some major issues:

Mr. Holger Treis, well established as our "beloved" Webmaster, is taking over the Pilot Roster for good. Naw, I am not to(o) lazy, it's just technical reasons that force us to switch personnel. So why sweat, when we can fix it elegantly this way. Thus as of now, please use the report form Holger has provided on our homepage and report those many, many hours to him or email him directly. I have tight control over it all ! Rest assured, your hours are in capable hands, … well …

Well folks, no more Zurich FPs for this year. We have integrated the LSZH-flights and others in and around and over Switzerland in our current FP Pax and Cargo - current ? Well you know, as I said earlier on, tempus fugit ! I am currently working on the Winter/Spring FP 2008. I have to take those screenshots of FSX and all this technics are soooo difficult to handle (at least for me).

Please keep up the good work - may 2008 bring us more PIREPs for us to enjoy !

Best whishes, have fun, make a mess….. and God's blessings to y'all

Dear Noble Air Frankfurt Crew Dogs:

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 2008!

The year 2007 is about to end, an intersting year. The first A380 has finally been delivered and has now entered into service connecting Singapore and Sydney. When will we see the first A380 on our Noble Air schedule? A flight model for pilot training and simulation ;-) is already available at the Noble Air hangar, but deliverance and regular service are still outstanding. Meanwhile, Boeing has presented the B787 on its first flight, and Abacus has published a corresponding add-on featuring the first commercial Noble Air livery ever!

So, let's all start the engines and go flying again in 2008! I am looking forward to lots of screenshots, flight hours, special pilot reports, and new pilots! Although my real life job is demanding (sorry for not yet publishing all screenshots!), I would like to ask all of you Noble Air Frankfurt Crew Dogs (and those who want to join) to email me, give me work to do, and make Noble Air Frankfurt a buzzing hub!

Have fun - happy landings!

Dear Noble Air Frankfurt Crew Dogs:
For me, flying with my flight simulator is always a nice break and a contrast to my real life job. It gets even better with flying online which, of course, is more demanding concerning time and skills! But I also enjoy meeting people from the flightsim community, either online or in reality.
This weekend, I was able to meet our Hub Captain Hendrik due to a real life job close to Muenster. Thank you, Hendrik, for showing me your broad variety of sceneries and the introduction of FS-X! Finally we managed to go flying online. Wouldn't this be an inspiration for another flight report, Hendrik? Or would anybody else of you pilots be interested in writing a report on your online experience?!?
But apart from the fun, we also worked on our homepage. You will probably notice several changes, especially

  • a new form for the submission of flight reports
  • an updated Hub Manual
  • "NOTAM" instead of "News" in the main navigation bar.
Some older NOTAM have been deleted out of the archieves. I would like to ask you to check the NOTAM regularily as this is the only news platform remaining. In addition, some screenshots have been uploaded, the roster has been updated, and (last but not least) we are very happy to introduce Mauro Trentini as a new Noble Fra Crew Member. Mauro, welcome to Noble Air Frankfurt!

Happy landings - have fun and keep flying !

Munich/Germany, February 10, 2007

Please check out the current news concerning twin engine jet operations, taken from a) German newspaper, b) Boeing, c) the FAA, d) the internet:

Less restrictions in the sky - Twin Engine Jets allowed on long haul routes without alternate airports

Flying Frankfurt - Anchorage, Sydney - Santiago de Chile, Washington - Shanghai: extreme long distance routes like these lead either across the ocean or the polar region. Flying takes several hours without en route alternate airports. This never was regarded as a problem when operating 3- or 4-engine aircraft, but concerning twin engine aircraft, it was. What would be done if one engine failed en route? ETOPS was introduced to regulate long haul flights with twin engine jets. Historically derived, initial rules said that an alternate airport was to be reachable within 60 minutes of flight. Nowadays, ruels for Extended Twin Engine Operations limit the routes for aircraft with only two engines so that they must be able to reach an alternate airport in case of engine failure within 207 minutes. These regulations were initiated on behalf of passengers' safety causing expensive diversions and the operation of alternate airports especially in the Pacific area.
Now, it is (partly) over: Starting February 2007, FAA allows specially equipped US aircraft to fly independently from these alternate airports. Requirements include fire supression systems, extended oxygen supply and automated cardioverter defibrillators to be able to deal accordingly with heart arrest within flight. (These requirements will probably have to be fulfilled for independently flying 3- or 4-engine aircraft, too, in the future.)
The new flexibility is necessary, as an increase of trans polar flights from now 1600 per day to 3200 flights daily in 2010 is expected, said FAA official Robert Reich. It also enables airlines with more reliable flight planning, as the diverted routes often had to be changed on short notice due to weather conditions of the alternate airports.
US carriers will have the most benefit from these new regulations, especially on their trans Pacific flights. Regarding Europe, this new ETOPS concept affects only several Siberian routes. But European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) official Daniel Hoeltgen expects the extension of the new regulations to European carriers as well.
Safety regulations were introduced in the 1950's starting with the 60 minute rule as the first "Twin-Engine Restrictions Based on Piston Engine Reliability". ETOPS were introduced in the 1980's starting with trans Atlantic flights of Boeing's 767. It is obvious that modern engines are highly reliable: The risk of a double engine failure is calculated to be once within 10.000.000.000 hours of flight. Nevertheless, the longest one engine flight due to engine failure was performed in March 2003, when a B777 had to fly for another 192 minutes before landing safely at Hawaii.
However, Pilots' funny translation of ETOPS never became true: "Engines Turn or Passengers Swim" - let's keep it like this! Safe flights and happy landings!

Holger

Dear Noble Crew Dogs,

a merry Christmas and a very happy New Year 2007 to all of those pilots cruisin' the friendly & "noble" skies.

A year is coming to an end which saw many changes, especially in the Webmaster area . I am sure all at the bar (the drinks are on me !!) will clap their hands together with me congratulating Mr. Treis on a job well done. Please let us not forget the merits of Yves Trepanier, the hard working Hub Captain of the renewed Boston Branch.

Currently, Mr. Treis is working backstage i.e. behind those stage curtains trying to update and modernize our homepage, yet keeping our traditional layout as best as possible. I am writing on our new Winter 2006/Spring 2007 Flightplan. Not wanting to give away too much, but new connections are being added, i.e. China and other Asian connections. Still, those distances are large and I am piloting those planes suitable all around Asia - that takes time, folks.

The Management of Noble Air Frankfurt whishes to thank every and all pilots for their flights and continuous efforts to make NBL FRA a successful hub within the Noble Air Family.

Please keep up the good work - may 2007 bring us more PIREPs for us to enjoy !

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 2007 !

I do really hope that none of You got hoaxed nor hooked up at Heathrow these days. What a mess! This is not the Christmas holiday one might wish to spend - beeing stuck on an airport! But things should be running fine by now at EGLL as far as I know...
Well, me too, I had some trouble this year. According to real life job, technical, and private difficulties I unfortunately could not accomplish what I had intended to do this year: create an entirely new website for Noble Air Frankfurt. Some changes already have taken place, but there is more to come next year. In the meantime,

keep up flying and have fun!

Yours,

Dear Noble Crew Dogs,

when I took over the duties of Hub Captain of Noble Air Frankfurt, the first thing on my mind was to create a functioning team of dedicated pilots/simmers from our airline to get Frankfurt going on. Together with Yves Trepanier, Roland Höhn and with the help of Andy Würde, I succeeded.

I think all the pilots were more than happy that the airline’s hub continued and the business of virtual flying went on as normal. NTL, times are changing and so are the persons involved in my team. We all know that our homepage hasn’t really had any major changes in recent times, due to my lack of programming skills. After searching for a long time, I finally found a volunteer to take over the job of “Webmaster Noble Air Frankfurt”. Let us all please welcome

Mr. Holger Treis,

the new man behind the “virtual” scenes of our airline. We both discussed several items we want to change and he is currently doing just that: getting’ us a new homepage, among other things to come yet.

To the former Webmaster, Mr. Yves Trepanier, I owe a lot.

He was the one, when no one came forward, who took up the loose ends after Mr. Marcus Puschmann left as HC, and – only recently joined at that time - created a homepage with known items and yet new options and who massively helped me getting started. As an old “war horse” of former Boston and CRJ-Shuttle Flight glory, he knew what to do and how to do it. I appreciate his teamworking very much and we all owe him respect for his work and his dedication. The NBL BoD has offered him the chance to resurrect the NBL Air Boston Hub and he accepted. To do a thing right, one has to be committed totally to reach once aims. So, Yves will dedicate his time and his impressive skills to get Boston back to the place it once owned: a major player among the hubs of the Noble Air Airline. We all whish him a very happy start and a long & fruitful career as Boston’s Hub Captain.

To express my thanks to Mr. Treis, I have given him a special pledge which he is empowered as of now to use in his correspondence:

Noble Air 1994 – 2005: Service to the Worlds

Detmold/Germany, 2005-12-25

Dear Noble Air Crew Dogs, dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

the Management of Noble Air Frankfurt would like to whish a merry Christmas and a very happy, healthy and prosperous New Year 2006.

Last year was a time of massive changes world-a-around, especially in the economical sense. We all had to understand what a precious gem the natural resources are. The prices for (crude) oil, its products and for gasoline/kerosene went through the roof and our business was heading towards hard times. I am sure, other products will come their way, but for the meantime, we just have to be careful using and treasuring our natural resources. We sadly had to recognize what the aviation business suffered by loss of life; we had to mourn the crashes in Afghanistan (Afghan Kam Air), Greece (Helios Airways), Venezuela (West Caribbean Airways), Indonesia (Mandala Airlines) are just a few. On the other hand, we shared the joy of hearing all passengers got out of the Air France Airbus A340, when the plane overshot the RWY. Aviation was right there in the Tsunami Area in Asia, right there making a real relief effort in Pakistan to help those caught in nature’s worst earthquake disaster of recent recordings.

Last time I issued this NEWS EDGE, we had to mourn the passing of the Pope Johannes II. Now we are happy to look on with the new Pope Benedict XVI, after 500 years, a German is Pope of the Catholic World Church, wow !

The year of 2005 for Noble Air Frankfurt was a Year of Consolidation, after the new Management took over from Marcus Puschmann. We should all be very proud that NBL FRA survived this major crisis. This achievement was reached by the efforts of all our pilots and the Management of NBL FRA is very, very proud of ‘em: THANK YOU !

As of the date of this NEWS EDGE, we have a new Passenger Flightplan “Winter/Spring 2005/06”, the Swiss Flightplan corresponding and the Cargo Flightplan. On the first page of the Pax FP you will find a small selection of airports we fly to, made of screenshot by Google Earth. The major changes in the new flightplan are the added flights. They are e.g. Doncaster/Robin Hood (EGCN), Gibraltar AB (LXGB), East Midlands (EGNX), Clermont-Ferrand (LFLC), Lugarno (LSZA), Split-Kastela (LDSP), Dubrovnik (LDDU), Riga (EVRA), Tallin (EETN), to name just a few. Try ‘em out !! The Cargo Flightplan got some new connections, too: Bermuda (TXKF), Prestwick (EGPK), Montreal-Dorval (CYUL), Toronto-Pearson (CYYZ), et. al.

The future of our hobby looks very promising.

With the further growth of the FS-Community, more and more add-ons are available, thou the tendency to turn to payware is all to obvious. Now, let’s face it, we all want superb quality in the add-ons and are not satisfied with only an object here and there. So its natural that designers want at least a bit of a return, and I am not speaking of a “thank you email”. Its up to us users to decide to, if an add-on is worth the bucks we pay for them.

MS Flight Simulator’s next generation is supposed to be released fall/winter 2006 (FS10 ?). I am sure, Microsoft will give us plenty of gimmicks to try out to and designers world-a-round will anticipate the release of the next SDK to get to work on it ;-).

To all out there cruisin’ the “friendly skies”:

Have fun…… make a mess and God’s blessings to y’all,

Hendrik

Noble Air 1994 – 2004: Service to the Worlds

Detmold/Germany, 2005-04-05

Dear Noble Air Frankfurt Crew Dogs, dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

To the upmost regret of all here at Noble Air and all over the world, had we heard of the demise of Pope Johannes Paul II. We mourn with everyone out there and we will all miss him terribly. Not all of his views were shared, but his integrity, his peace-loving nature and his never ending thirst to help and support all those in inconvenience circumstances is an example for us all to try to aim for a better, peaceful world.

Noble Air and especially Noble Air Frankfurt here in Europe, is a liaison to reach this ambitious, but not impossible goal. We will embrace him in our thoughts and will include him in our prayers.

The Management of Noble Air Frankfurt has reduced prices for the City Shuttle Services between major German Ports of Departure and Rome’s Fiumincino Airport to the no-gain-level. We would like to express our wish to enable all our passengers the possibility to mourn on-site at the St. Paul’s Cathedral in Rome.

The Management of Noble Air Frankfurt is proud to announce the release of the Noble Air Frankfurt Spring-Summer Flightplan 2005 in conjunction with the all new Summer Flightplan 2005 of the Zurich/Switzerland Hub (courtesy of Andy Wuerde).

A lot of new flights were integrated into the new release to enable yet another step forward of our airline to fully appreciate our customers wishes and needs. Naturally, some flights had to erased so that now, the flights are compatible.

Montreal, Toronto, the Balearic Islands, Bergamo, Reggio Calabria of Italy, Santander in Spain, La Palma of the Canary Islands, Gibraltar, St. Tropez, Cannes and Nice at the Cote d’Azur,  Antwerp, Cancun and Acapulco of Mexico are only a few new destination we are proud to have given the rights to land there. Noble Air Frankfurt is expanding more and more. This success is due only to our pilots and – of that I am very proud – more pilots decide to join our airline and decide to fly with and for us the “friendly skies” all over the world.

Have fun…… make a mess and God’s blessings to y’all,

Frankfurt, January 01, 2005

Noble Air 1994 – 2004: Service to the Worlds

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen, dear Noble Air FRA Crew Dogs,

the year 2004 finally has come to an end,

The Management of Noble Air wishes everybody and all a merry Christmas and a very happy New Year 2005.

2004 was an eventful year for Noble Air Frankfurt Hub.

We all together managed to reopen the hub for every and all pilots willing to join the party and to fly the friendly skies over the world. After the step-down of former NBL Hub Captain Marcus Puschmann from all of his duties in the Noble Air Community, I am happy to report his continuing commitment in the NBL FRA Hub as a pilot, flying from Genoa, Italy, for Noble Air.

Yves Trepanier, our Webmaster, has contributed immensely, upholding the homepage in its current status, informing the pilots of major events and in general was more than a helping hand of your Hub Captain. Apropos Hub Captain; my favorite airplane for private use was …. yeah was…! the Piper Cub single seat. Nowadays, I will have to add another seat, my girlfriend shares my fascination for the skies and will not be pacified with keeping the GPNF (Girl-Pilot-not-flying ;-)) seat, only, while I cruise around. So, another actively pilot joined our ranks as did several others, who are wildly active, getting promoted fast and in the near future will threatening my Pilot Roster’s place at the top <BG>. Roland Höhn, our AHC, did everything in his power to maintain his Noble Air Swiss Flightplan and help the Hub Captain. Thanks to Roland, his Swiss Flightplan was updated early enough for the upcoming winter/spring 2004/05 season; I lack behind… having so much to do, virtually…. <LOL>.

The NBL Air Fleet was enlarged thanks to the untiring work of the CEO of Noble Air Joe Fritsch and we all enjoyed and still enjoy his creations. Due to the variety of planes usable in our Flightplan, no restrictions are put on our pilots and this helped us all to accumulate quite some flight hours. Currently, my pocket calculator reads: 23,805:31 hrs. and more to come…………. Keep up the good work, guys ;-).

Now, in Germany, the year 2005 marks the starting point of the building of a new airport: BBI International in Berlin, approx. will be opened in 2010 for the winter flightplan, but also the closure of the other 2 historically valuable airports in Berlin: Tegel (EDDT) and Tempelhof (EDDI). Therefore, the new Flightplan of Spring/Summer 2005 will focus, among other things, on the new routes to and from the Capital of Germany, Berlin. The plan for BBI (Berlin Brandenburg Int’l) was given its official o.k. on August 13th 2004 (Planning Stipulation Decision) and Tempelhof had to be closed in October 2004… now, Tempelhof is still active…but no one knows for how long. NBL FRA Management has successfully negotiated the NBL Maintenance Facility to the north of the new airport as well as our share in the new terminal, when it is finally erected. Attached, please see some pics of the new airport. Its link to their homepage reads:

http://www.berlin-airport.de/bbi/rubEnglish/index.html .

With a very happy New Year 2005 we all embrace those people in Southeast Asia and around the world who suffered by nature’s last catastrophe. With all our sophistication, with all our technological advancements and improvement, coming to the basic truth: Mother Nature still is Man’s true last frontier……

Have fun… make a mess and God’s blessings to y’all

Finally, after a very long time of patience, Joe Fritsch made it possible again for us to enjoy the pleasures of our very own working homepage !!

Please search for NBL FRA in the homepage of www.nobleair.com under the NBL Hubs and save the link to NBL FRA in your favorite online archive.

As you have probably already noticed, Yves Trepanier is working on the upgrade of our homepage. Due to your continuous support, he now has a real challenging job to integrate all your tips, items, reports, pics, etc. ;-)))  Thanks for that. Please continue flying with Noble Air Frankfurt. We all appreciate. In case of flighthours, Yves will receive an upgrade (7 reports today on the to-do-list) from me tomorrow. Those pilots, who are asked to contact me (look up the pilot roster, boys ;-), please do so; otherwise I need to cancel your "active"-status, please show up !

Kind regards .... make a mess and God's blessings to y'all

Hendrik Dammann

Noble Air Frankfurt Hub Captain

Noble Air 1994 - 2004: Service to the Worlds

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen, dear Noble Air FRA Crew Dogs,

for information purposes, only:

This report is about the latest activities of the NBL FRA Management since the retirement of its last Hub Captain, Marcus Puschmann.

Mr. Puschmann announced today, he will remain with NBL FRA as a pilot; he is more than welcome and the HC will pay for drinks tonight - join the party :-)).

The Board of Directors (BoD) of Noble Air has chosen Dr. Hendrik L. Dammann of Detmold, Germany, long-time AHC, to be the Hub Captain of Noble Air Frankfurt. Mr. Dammann has since put together a new Management Team of weathered and resourceful personnel to take Noble Air FRA back to its former activity level and attractiveness. The new Hub Captain has asked and received positive answers from Mr. Yves Trepanier of former Bostonian and other "noble Hubs" fame to be the Webmaster of NBL FRA. Mr. Trepanier has accepted the post and has been active in reorganisation of the homepage ever since. You will have noticed that the Pilot Roster has been updated and surprisingly, only a few former active pilots of NBL FRA haven't been seen for a long time. The remaining pilots are actively cruisin' the friendly skies: 22.102:27 hrs. have been collectively flown as of this date. Mr. Trepanier has also been very forthcoming in changing some of the appearances of the homepage (saving some of Mr. Puschmann's innovations, too) and will re-open the HC-Office, once he receives his curriculum vitae, which will be coming his way soon. The other personnel new to the Management of NBL FRA, is Mr. Roland Höhn of former Swiss glory. He has accepted the post of AHC and has already upgraded his Swiss Flightplan as a sub-hub of NBL FRA. To the convenience of all Noble Air Crew Dogs, the flightplan is available for downloading already and will be refined by the HC in the very near future (in a day or two ;-). Mr. Andreas Würde, pilot #1872G has compiled a NBL FRA Cargo Flightplan for those jockeys who enjoy a really "heavy plane" from time to time.

The HC himself at the moment, works together closely with the AHC, to upgrade and refine the NBL FRA Flightplan Summer/Fall 2004. At this time, suffice to say that the negotiations with low-cost and other airlines are being very advanced and one can say that especially the connections to Genoa, the Spain-bound connections and other frequented locations have found their way into the NBL FRA Flightplan Summer/Fall 2004. For this purpose, NBL Air FRA has taken delivery of a number of Boeing B737-800Ws in its BBJ-layout for most luxurious & exclusive transportation and of the recently by Noble Air worldwide acquired Airbus' A321-211. There are talks at the moment with the new German airport EDLV (Niederrhein, former RAF Base Laarbruch/ETUL), which opened 05-01-2003 and is being served by B737-800 flights by Ryanair to and from EGSS and by Taino Airlines to and from the Dom.Republic. A couple of Canadian airport operators (like those from Montreal-Dorval, Toronto-Pearson, Ottawa) still haven't seen the lights yet, but we'll get' em there <G>. The HC and AHC remain hopping between the continents to bring the negotiations to a fruit- and successful end. We'll keep y'a informed …

Have fun. Make a mess and God's blessings to y'all

Hendrik, the "GURU"

NOTAM - Notice to AirMen Thursday 05.04.13

Within less than a week after taking off again, the Noble Air Frankfurt Hub is honored to have a long time Noble Air pilot joining our hub.

We are pleased to welcome Iwan R. Blom, NBL pilot #1428, transfering from the the BOS hub where he has been since joining Noble Air back in 1996 or 1997.

Iwan is Dutch but live in the US. Professionally, he is Subcontractor to Lockheed Martin in the ATC department making test simulations to test their software (boring). Part-time flight instructor at KGAI. Used to be full-time but unfortunately the airline market is down right now and I can't afford the meager salary as an FO for a commuter airline.....

From 05/00-06/03 he was a full time flight instructor at KGAI, from 06/01-06/03 Chief Pilot of the flight school. Total time 2356.2 hours (however, these hours can't be included in the Noble Air record :-) ).

His home base in the USA is Gaithersburg, MD, USA (Home Airport KIAD)

A warm welcome to you Iwan. We will do our utmost to make you comfortable. For now, the drinks are on us :-)

Dear NBL FRA Crewdogs

Hi.. It's Hendrik. Yes. I have been promoted to Hub Captain. Unfortunately, Marcus' personal life commitments prevent him from carrying on as HC. We will however be blessed with him staying on as a line pilot. I will update this page as soon as I can. Please bear with me during this transition. My number one priority is to get this hub back on it's feet and functioning as it once was.

Have a good week !
