Los Angeles Hub - Special Military Charter

Special Military Charter - The U.S. Coast Guard has contracted with Noble Air to fly personnel from Los Angeles to Seward Alaska. The Coast Guard needs to relieve the crew of the Coast Guard Cutter Mustang, stationed at Seward. We will be transporting personnel from U.S. Coast Guard District 14 located in Hawaii to PAWD-Seward, Alaska. The personnel from Hawaii were flown to Los Angeles (U.S. Coast Guard District 17) on Noble Air Flight LAX-0009. The Coast Guard also has contracted for use of our Twin Otter for a period of 3 months for some special operations. Only 6 of the 300s models were built and they require the enhanced STOL performance. After delivering the personnel at Seward, we will fly 2 Coast Guard pilots to Anchorage where we will catch a Noble Air Flight back to Los Angeles. The DHC6-300s is the only aircraft that may be used for this charter. Don't forget to pick up the Aircraft in Anchorage in 3 months.
Since the Coast Guard has specifically asked for the Twin Otter for this flight, be prepared for some long flight hours. Flying Low level airways, the first leg is over 900 miles. Since the Twin Otter's range is about 700 nm, you will need to make a fuel stop between KLAX and KNOW. Reno, Nevada is about half way (about 340 nm from Los Angeles) and since we have a Cargo office at Reno, it looks like a good place to get fuel. We will spend the first night of our flight as guests of the Coast Guard at Port Angeles, Wa. Coast Guard Air Station (KNOW) The next morning we will push on to Seward, with a brief stop for fuel at Annette Island.
