PILOT OF THE MONTH Some of you maybe aware that there is a facility within the PIREP system to identify the Pilot Of The Month (POTM). The statistics of all our flights are stored on the PIREP system. Ed Watson has created a program that analyses these statistics and points are awarded accordingly. The parameters used include miles flown, completed ribbon flights, numbers of charter and assigned flights. The analysis is made on a Hub and monthly bases. The pilot with the most points accrued during the month is declared the POTM. The POTM will be posted here and in the Hub Lounge at the beginning of each month. **** AUGUST's Pilot of the Month is TONY HOSKIN**** Tony Hoskin.....244 Steve Chapman ..164 Ron McConnell ........89 ************* ***TEAMSPEAK 3 SERVER*** Hi Guys, Mr Busy has kindly set-up a TeamSpeak 3 server for the exclusive use of Noble Air. This program is much neater produces better sound and has lots of new features. NB the current TS2 server will not be available for us after 30th June, so the Battle of Britain Flyin will use the TS3 server. It is very easy to get connected to TS3, but you will need to download the program and install it first. You can get the program from the link below:- http://www.teamspeak.com/?page=downloads Choose the Windows 32 or 64 bit Client version depending on your computer (most will be 32) Run the downloaded file and this will install it onto your computer, and will put an icon on your desktop. When you first run the program from the desktop you will see a wizard which makes it easy to get connected. The information you need to enter is:- Address:- eurots1.gameservers.com Port Number:- 9152 Password:- as before but contact HC/AHC if you have forgotten it! Your Nickname should be your NA number followed by your Christian name and then your airport base e.g NA7777 Fred EGKK Now when you connect you should find yourself in arrivals. Hopefully someone (e.g. a system admin.) will be there to help you get access to the various rooms. ************************ ***PLEASE NOTE FURTHER CHANGES TO FSHOST IP*** Ed has had problems getting the FSHost stable, but it looks as if he has succeeded. The FSHost is up and running with all the required ports open for us to use. The IP has had to change again and is now:- 58.6.156.5 The password is as usual but is now in UPPER CASE. Contact HC/AHC's for password via email ******************* The Gatwick Hub is OPEN for new Pilots *********** GATWICK SIDs & STARs & Gate parking files updated - see Hub Files. Tony Hoskin promoted to Chief Pilot Very many congratulations to Tony for gaining his Chief Pilot rings. 10,000 hours is a lot of flying and all for Noble Air. Tony is the first pilot to achieve this rank in the London Hub. Well done Mate.
BATTLE OF BRITAIN 70th ANNIVERSARY FLYIN REPORT We all had a great time on the BoB flyin. Eleven pilots took part and four of our Hubs were represented. With the command "Scramble" ten took off from Tangmere with Ed joining us from Goodwood (minus his coffee). We were able to keep very much together for the first half of the flight and all managed a low pass over Duxford before landing to refuel and to get that much needed coffee. On taking off we climbed as fast as possible to Angels twenty before descending in time to turn at Heathrow for our flypast over Buckingham Palace. Most of us were flying in Hurricanes or Spitfires, although Geoff was flying a Mosquito. We did have a glimpse of a 109E as we passed the White Cliffs of Dover (serenaded by JMac doing a Vera Lynn impersonation) No bluebirds were spotted! We all landed safely at Manston after a really enjoyagle flyin. Thanks to Bob Mumford for posing the idea and especially to John McKeon for producing the Tangmere scenery in both FS9 and FSX ****************************** FSX - REPAINTS FOR NOBLE AIR We are very much aware that the repaints for FSX aircraft are not easily accessible from one Hangar. The main NA website is being redesigned and a new Hangar including FSX is in the planning phase. We all know how long it takes to get planning permission on airports :-)) In the meantime we are trying to get as many FSX repaints as possible onto a file server so that they can be downloaded. I have made links to two aircraft so far (UK version of the PMDG B747-400/ and the NZ version of the PMDG MD11). You can get these files from our Hub File Page using the navigation button on the above left. My thanks to Tony Forrest for zipping and uploading these files for our use. ********* NEW REPAINT- FS9 PMDG 737-700 Phill Irwin from the newly formed Christchurch Hub has done a magnificent repaint of the FS9 PMDG B737-700 with winglets. This is in full NA colours but carries the Union Flag as well as a UK Registration number. It is very easy to install and comes complete with a readme file and full instructions. It looks really great. Please use the link below to start the download. Many thanks to Phill for this great addition to the UK fleet. ********************** NEW AUTO-PIREP FOR FS9 AND FSX Ed Watson has produced a new version of the Auto-PIREP system, and it now works with FS9 and FSX. It not only provides one click reporting but also gives live ACARS in both versions of FS. This version will now supercede the original versions. Vista users should install and run the system set to Administrator. All should check to see if you have a version of makerunways.exe in your FS main folder, if so delete it or rename it before you run the set-up for the new PIREP (some programs e.g. Radar Contact 4 will have installed an older version). You also need the most recent version of FSUIPC for FS9 and FSX. Please ensure that the ACARS box is unchecked the first time you connect the PIREP system to FS. The link to the new program is immediately below. Thanks Ed for all your time and effort in giving us such a great asset.
